This page lists the biographies of the characters that appear in the Warzone Story. They are usually the nations that reside in the Warzones, but some nations might create several characters. If you want your nation to be included here, please send me a telegram in game.
Warzone Codger's Settlement is founded by a group of hardy fortune-seeking frontier men who seek an escape from the bureaucracy of the modern world, and (perhaps even more so) hope to strike a big fortune here. Warzone Airspace, despite being a horrid region of intolerable weather, cannibalistic savages and a geopolitical hotspot for conflicts by various powers has unsurpassed natural beauty, home to many rare specimens and rich mineral deposits which even the smallest amount would reap bonanzas. As such its main industries are mining/fossicking, forestry and hunting. The principal of the settlement, Warren Codge, is a rich yet eccentric old man; Some say he has gone mad from years in the wilderness but no one questions his conviction that Warzone Airspace if it could be tamed, would be a bountiful paradise the envy of world.
The People of the Controlled Tribes are a new but powerful nation. After Years of war both civil and from a far we have survived and grown our people while free understand there must be personal duty to the state every person from the age of 16 to 30 serve in the military to gain civil freedoms and the right to vote others may still vote on local issues but are banned from mainstream votes everyone has a voice but not all are heard. We have maintained our borders with our Army and Marine soldiers..Our biggest surplus is is both conventional weaponry and state of the art robotic battle suits to date the M.U.T.T mk7 has proven the Sword of the Tribes.
Jahodi is a small fledgling nation of refugees who escaped from a bloodthirsty dictatorship. As such, Jahodians are wary of government and highly value their civil rights and political freedoms. They are openly disdainful of the Dictatorships in the Warzone Airspace, and offer open borders to anyone looking to escape to a safe haven.
As refugees have poured into the country since its founding two decades ago, Jahodi has managed to double in size, and is struggling to provide infrastructure and jobs for all of its citizens. Despite the governments best efforts, unemployment is high and almost 1/6th of Jahodians live in slums that surround the main cities. Most Jahodians realize that this is a temporary problem however, and as the nation continues to develop, the standard of living will improve.
The Dominion of Lathageis: A "newer" nation in a sense. The country was originally a representative democracy, until a few years ago when a small group of people, led by a man who was only known as Vindicus came about. They received a split military and public backing through their presentation of the "truth" a program in which the current government would be quickly revamped, and society improved. However this led to a gruelling civil war. However "Vindicus" and the people for the "truth" Miraculously prevailed when they released "virus". Not much is known of it so far, but it is one of the many deterrents used in the country. Vindicus quickly doubled police power an implemented research considered inhumane in the past government. A bio-mechanical and genetics program designed to make the perfect soldiers...and indeed it worked..even though it went through many trial stages greatly reducing the countries population. But this was of no concern. They were being moulded into a fierce people, only soldiers were citizens, and every able bodied male in between the ages of 16 and 45 were turned into these...inhuman abominations. The country itself holds strict laws and takes pride in their advanced weaponry system, mainly pertaining to their airforce.
Libertepaix was founded by a small group of pilgrims looking for freedom. They quickly established a government, and wrote a Constitution to help in their government decisions. (the government is similar to the United States, but there is no supreme court, or house of reps., just a senate.) It is a strict republic, that holds the people's rights very sacred. The nation is lead by a President (who I still can't name :( that is under oath to protect the people.
Murtunia is a nation of nomadic peoples. As such, most of it's citizens do not actually live in the homeland, and the central government functions more like an NGO than a real country. The primary source of everyday law and direction comes from tribal elders and localized councils. They are also a very warlike people, making their living as mercenaries,as well as international arms and military technology dealers. Hence why I think they're gonna feel right at home here. They also sell camels and camel by-products.
The Federal Republic of Opsys is a militaristic, economically-powerful and socially-driven nation which works for the interests of its own citizens and, secondly, the interests of the citizens of the WA. For the size of its nation Opsys is incredibly strong utilising mechanised armour infantry suits equipped to deal with urban, rural and even orbital combat and police actions. This has come at a cost of a high crime-rate and no welfare, however, though spending has been increased in the areas of social welfare and education (legislation pending).
Military service is not compulsory though the support structures that serve it are (logistics, administrative and legal organisations all publicly funded). Combat service for two years ensures citizenship that allows the title 'Citizen' to be used and also voting in government-affecting legislations.
Free speech is welcomed...to an extent. Any subversive and dangerous groups are quickly pacified by the 'Talent', the special services of Opsys who ensure that offenders do not offend again. Books, films, radio and the newspaper (though the latter is closely watched by the State) are free and enjoy open markets and uncensored content.
In short, Opsys is a fledgling nation that is rich, strong and doing its best to improve the living conditions of its citizens. It allows free speech, voting and is improving its civil rights by the day...but is mindful of those who would seek to destroy these advances.
Sylaris Prime is a nation that has just emerged from a terrible civil war in which the ruling power suppressed a well armed rebel force. The use of nuclear weapons destroyed much of the nation's infrastructure. The ruling power is now in the process of re-industrializing the nation. Much of the nation's spending is going towards strengthening the decimated military and the construction of massive starships. Sylaris Prime still holds on to its democratic past, but social unrest may force the government to institute marshal law. The citizens are reluctant to start a war at this time, but if pushed far enough, every man and single woman from ages 17-30 is prepared to go to war.
