Convening the Airspace Imperium

While the rebellion within Airspace rages, Warren "Codger" Codge starts a telelink to all leaders in the region. He begins to speak.

Greetings brave nations!

It is a tumultuous time, but it's as good as any to call the first meeting of the Airspace Imperium, the union of nations from Warzone Airspace. Whilst we may have our differences internally -as expected from ambitious warring states, and obviously by our varied responses to the rebellion in Husten and elsewhere- I am heartened by our shared belief to make this region great, and your confidence in me to head the Imperium as Chancellor and Delegate.

The Imperium concerns the role and policy of Warzone Airspace as a region. Your nation's sovereignty is unaffected. It has two main responsibilities. First is to provide security to the region we all reside and depend on and to develop our external policy to other regions. Second is our response to resolutions in the World Assembly. These duties are discharged through the Chancellor on behalf of all nations in Airspace.

As current Chancellor, I have decided to share my decision making (at least to what can be revealed publicly) to the region. I believe it is only appropriate for the endorsements you've placed at me to this position. What follows my are two reports to the region, the Security Report and the World Assembly Report.

The Security Report

Through your endorsements to elect me Chancellor and Delegate, I had been granted authority to access the World Assembly's air force to defend the region. They allow me to call an offensive air strike against any nation in the region, which will forcibly air lift and eject them to The Rejected Realms. Rest assured that I appreciate this great power and that I will not use it for internal matters; no matter how disappointed Codger's Settlement is at some nations' inaction on the Husten Rebellion. It will only be used against external invaders who threaten the security the region and all our nations within, and usurpers who threaten the stability of the Imperium before the next election.

On that note, if you have not done so already, please endorse your Chancellor Delegate Warzone Codger to improve the security of this region. More endorsements makes it more difficult for others overthrow the Chancellor and the Imperium, preventing invaders from accessing these air strikes to destroy the region. As these powers are provided by the World Assembly, you need to join the World Assembly to give endorsements - this offers other opportunities for your nation to participate in and is only a small obligation for the safety of the region.

Some of you have raised questions about the "Endocap" policy. The answer is to introduce a simple security measure. Nations who have endorsements past the cap are considered threats to the region and the Imperium, and action would be taken. However nations who have shown dedication will be given exception as a sign our trust to them. I believe this is a best policy to prevent invaders and to encourage activity in the region.

The World Assembly Report

Joining the World Assembly is both a privilege and a responsibility. In return for the ability to give endorsements to elect a Delegate to protect the region, you also agree to participate and be bound the the laws the World Assembly legislates. This is only a minor obligation, and many find pleasure at the opportunity to influence world legislation. Some like your Chancellor even drafted their own to take to the world. As your Delegate, I have been given "bonus" votes for each endorsement I receive; it is another reason to endorse your delegate so the views of Airspace can have a greater say to the world. Note that your nation can also vote itself and it does not have to vote the same way as your Delegate's, but it maximises our influence if a consensus is reached as we do.

The current resolution is "Medical Facilities Protection" and it was written by your Delegate. I wrote it as response to the bloodshed seen in the conflicts of our ever-fighting Warzone region with a hope that its worst excess would be lessened. It protects against the attacking of hospitals and other medical facilities in war and I urge all of you to follow with the Imperium and vote a FOR it. It would be a brighter day for ourselves and the world.

Nations, please share your thoughts below.

The Rebellion of Husten

Five years have passed since the emancipation of Warzone Space by The Three Pioneers and despite a series of conflicts in the ensuing power vaccum, a fragile peace has finally been settled. Tensions between nations are still high however and it is thought that only the slightest dispute is needed to set the region ablaze again...

The leaders Codger, Bangners, Riowood and assorted generals were discussing events at Codgergrad following unidentified attacks on Bangner's mountain stations.

"Just how serious is this threat?" asked Codger.

"They've pretty much taken over the whole city of Husten..." a general replied.

"Their numbers?" demanded Bangners.

"I - I don't know. To take over a city like Husten, which has 1.1 million citizens, would need a massive army."

"F**k..." . echoed a chorus through the room.

Husten is a major city in Warzone Airspace, located in the South East of the region, near the borders to Warzone Africa and and only a stone's throw away from Codgergrad. If Husten is taken, Codgergrad is surely next.

The general then showed the map of where he believed the Resistance's troops were located. The City of Husten had somewhat became their Headquarters, and there was reported attacks on smaller villages nearby.

"Our Intelligence believes that the Resistance may be supplied with troops from Warzone Africa and The New Galactic Empire" he said

"Did you say The New Galactic Empire?" Codger asked, his voice betraying a tinge of fear. He remembers the atrocities committed by that region, particularly their enslavement of the denizens of Warzone Asia and sending them as cannon fodder on suicidal human wave attacks.

"Yes"

Meanwhile, it was quiet at Codgergrad; it appeared the steady thump of bombs being dropped at nearby Husten has stopped. However the  reconnaissance plane, "Flying High" that was sent to investigate has not returned.

"Bangners", Riowood turned to him, "Do you know what happened to him? Let's hope it's not a sign of things to come"

"We received last transmission from it four hours ago flying over the desert. The pictures showed three small squadrons advancing rapidly towards the us."

Suddenly, the famed warrior Eternus Sacramentum burst into the room.

"They are outside! They must of sneak into the city under camouflage. They're attacking the main entrance as we speak, we can't hold them off much longer, there hundreds of them - We must evacuate now!"

General Redfern, a 5 star general from Riowood's nation stayed behind to defend the city, while the four leaders ran to the chopper in waiting. Soon they were flying towards the Federation of Eternus Sacramentum in the Far North, possibly the one country in Warzone Airspace where has been no sign rebelling yet. They landed and retreated to a bunker inside the Federation.

Bangners was tense. "Do we sit and wait it out or attack with those who are still loyal! I just received notification that just attacked my nation of Bangers too and...and we've just barely managed to hold our capital."

There was a beep. It was from Redfern. "It..it was terrible. We couldn't hold the Codgergrad, it's now being burnt to the ground. I shall not elaborate on the unspeakable horrors and massacres they did, we evacuated as many we could.  We are now moving to Bangers' nation to reinforce them there."

Eternus was surprisingly upbeat however, "Hell, I can now do something with my fighting boys. I don't think any of them want to live forever. Let's strike them where it hurts, at Husten where it this mess all started"

Codger was too distraught to speak but merely nodded. He knew liberating that city would weaken they morale that strongest, still having just seen his capital burn, he can not fathom how they were to take Husten. It was Riowood who chimed.

"Why not a bait and switch? Bangners, Redfern prepare your forces to flank Husten from the West. We need you to distract them while the Eternus Federation troops storms in capture it from the North."

And so that was the plan.

--------------

On the other side of the region, the nation of Jahohi is facing rebellion problems of it's own. New Galactic Empire forces have also infiltrated their territory and a trying to incite a revolt of the government there, attempting to rouse the disaffected slums. Martial law was declared and the city is under lock down.  Similar circumstances are occurring at neighbouring Libertepaix, where many people have began questioning the country's democratic ideals.

Cellars of Sin

The creation of Nationstates, the Warzones "Cellars of Sin" and the Punishment of Influence

ACT I

The World began with the three
First was The Pacific
The realm of life
Birthplace of all nations
As they rose from the sea

Then came The Rejected Realms
The land of purgatory
Redeemer of any nation
Forgive and let live

Finally there was Lazarus
Place of the dead
A home for ancient nations
When they woke again

ACT II

Gifted from the Three
Nations discovered curiosity
Hence onwards they went
To found their own regions
For any reason, purpose or nein

Many achieved greatness
Grand utopias were seen
But curiosity was fickle
Also caused ruin it did

Nations did not respect each other
Regions could not work together
Powers for inspired leaders
Abused to create bloodied rivers

ACT III

At first the Gods were content
They thought it would run its course
As nations are fundamentally good
They would stop to listen and talk
But they did not

Thus the Gods created the Warzones
The Cellars of Sin
Nations free to be evil
No one to judge within

It was hoped they return
Excesses gone, pure and free
Alas it was not to be
For sin corrupted every nation herein

ACT IV

So the Gods decided a punishment
Was needed to chain the beast within
To be cast on to all Nations
As "Enough!" they said,
Influence was brought in

Influence! Oh have mercy!
Raiders eviscerated overnight
Lasting victory possible no more,
Stagnant world by elders was the plight

Only the Warzones remained
Where old days of valour can be revived
These Cellars of Sin
Can one's inner beast be unleashed

Site update

The proper About and Characters pages are now uploaded. They might have slight changes in the future, but it's a start. New nations who want their nation/character bio included should send a telegram to me in game.

Now to set the story.

Message from the Delegate

This is just a quick primer for what to expect joining this region, a reference until I write something more permanent.

-------

Dear all,

I am grateful so many of you joined, especially so because you have been active and enthusiastic in this region. I feel I have a duty to explain to everyone what is happening here, and what I'm planning.

Warzone Airspace is two things. First it a roleplaying/story-making region. A region themed about "life in a warzone", the glorious conflicts, the struggles of life. On this part I know many of you are confused at how to join in, and I admit it has been sort of disorganised. I ask you to give me a day or two to fix this - I have been slightly busy but I will read through all the posts, and summarise it so the story is understandable to everyone again. Probably put it somewhere too for easy reference. Hope you can give me some time.

Update: See http://nswarzone.blogspot.com/ for an peak at what I'm making.

The second thing is that this place actually *is* a Warzone. This region was specially made by the game to be different from other regions as place where battles are fought. Battles in this game involve taking over the delegacy and using its powers to drive everyone out. This place is called a Warzone because of the safeguards for battles are removed. Normally the delegate has limits on how many it could kick out at a time, but not so here. This is why I encourage you to join the WA and endorse me; the more endorsement I have, the harder it is to overthrow me and use it to eject all of you and ruin this region. Depending on what you want, one day when we are big enough we might be able to go on the offensive as well.

Finally you may notice that this region's population has been increasing rapidly, but I want you to know you haven't forgotten any of you though and each of you is important to this region.

Thanks

Warzone Codger.
